The Coalition of Northern Youth Movement, or CNYM, has cautioned Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) presidential candidate, from making disparaging remarks about the security situation in the nation. Remember that last week, just after the NNPP National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, the former governor of Kano State bemoaned the security situation destabilising the country in a press conference.
Kwankwaso bemoaned that “people can no longer go to the farm,” but he was hopeful that the Nigerian Army would be able to handle the situation. They are being driven out of their cities and villages as well.

“Hundreds of criminals and bandits abduct and abuse our children daily
In response, CNYM claimed that the national head of the NNPP neglected to address security concerns during his tenure as Kano State governor and minister of defence in a statement released on Wednesday by its president, DrDralba Isah.
“We are also aware of the brand of political extremism that Kwankwaso propagated in Kano state,” the statement states in part.
“This banditry evolved from the militant supporters of the Kano politicians who turned to criminality after their election losses and spread to other parts of the northwest.”
“Kwankwaso’s tantrum when he learned that the current administration is taking action to slow the growth of any kind of extremism is undoubtedly a result of his intention to use the NNPP as a vehicle for distributing such political extremism across the nation.
We also implore Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and minister of defence, to accept his role as a colossal failure who is incapable of advising counterterrorism to the Tinubu administration and the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s armed forces.
