Following the continued killings, intimidation and molestation of Ohafia people by the soldiers of the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks Ebem, the Ohafia South State Constituency Flag Bearer for Action Democratic Parry, ADP, Hon. Ebin Kalu Orji, has called on governor of Abia, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, the senator Representing Abia North sensational zone, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, and the Local Government Chairman of Ohafia Local Government Area, Dr. Okorafor Ukiwe to intervene and call on the Brigade Commander of the Nigerian Army Command, to withdraw their men from the streets and make peace in Ohafia to prevent further loss of lives and destruction of properties that has bedeviled the peaceful community this week.

He made this clarion call in a Radio News broadcast of Flow 94.1FM Umuahia, monitored by OHAFIA TV News.

The ADP Chieftain regretted that the area has been besieged by soldiers after an alleged encounter with operatives of ESN in the area, but wonders why the entire community will be subjected to such level of intimidation even when it is known fact that they supposed attackers do not live among the Ohafians as such will not be allowed by the peace-loving indigenes of the community.

“Ohafia is a peaceful community, what the Army is doing to civilians should be discouraged by we’ll meaning Abians and Nigeria as a whole.” he said.

Recall that OHAFIA TV News reported another killing of a youth, identified as IDIKA in Amaekpu to cut more pounds of flesh, and wounded another whose life is presently hanging in the balance. This is coming few days after the cold-blood murder of another young lady identified as Chinyere in Ebem Ohafia, as even a mad man, Sunny, was not spared by the rampaging soldiers.

He insisted that this carnage must stop and peace restored to enable innocent people go about their normal businesses.
