Mben Political Assembly (MPA), the think tank dedicated to the political renaissance of Ohafia clan in Abia State has expressed deep shock and sadness over the death of Chief Okwara Osonwa Okwara, Ugomba 1 of Ebem Ohafia.
Chief Okwara was a patron of the MPA and a staunch supporter of the organisation. He passed on to glory on June 11, 2020.
He was an illustrious son of Ohafia and was highly passionate about matters of development of the clan, which he reflected in strong support to the vision and mission of the MPA.
The MPA in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Emele Onu, described the passage of the renowned accountant, auditor and former Group Executive Director of the NNPC as a big loss to the Ohafia community, Abia State and Nigeria.
The think tank prayed to God to repose the soul of the departed, console the immediate and extended family and grant the people of Ohafia the fortitude to bear the loss.
“His death is a call to all noble men and women of Ohafia to rise to the occasion and eschew a vacuum. Chief Okwara left us at a most auspicious time in the struggle to actualise the Ohafia 2023 project. It behoves on us to work together to ensure the dream he nurtured for MPA and Ohafia comes true,” MPA President, Dr Lucas Eme Uche Onuh was quoted to have said in the statement.
It will be recalled that MPA is agitating for an Ohafia son or daughter to be elected Governor of Abia State, come 2023. The move, which is seen by many as fair and just, is getting wide support across the 17 local government areas of the state.
