The United Abia Artistes and Patriots Forum (UAAP) has stated that they are not surprise at the superlative performance of Governor Alex Chioma Otti OFR in one year in office as Abia State, chief executive.

The group who stated this during a press briefing in Umuahia on 30th May 2023 posited that they were fully aware of the capacity of Governor Otti before they decided to support the governor in the last election.

“We were fully aware of the capacity and abilities of the governor; we followed his trajectory and concluded that he is the best man for Abia State at this time. So, as UAAP we are not surprised at the giant strides of the governor, in fact we are advising Abians to get ready for greater performance from the governor because he is focused on transforming Abia State fully”

UAAP President General Amb. Dr. Osita Offor “De Ultimate Commander”, went further to analyse that in the area of Security the governor has been able to secure the state largely and that he believes the governor with his cabinet will do more to make sure that every loophole is tighten.

“Before Governor Otti came on board, Umunneochi and Isuikwuato LGAs were almost a no-go area, but today, those areas are secured. In all estimation, even from the opposition, Governor Otti has done well in security. They only need to tighten up all loopholes to avoid little issues that are cropping up in a few places”

“In infrastructure, Governor Otti has exceeded expectation, even the blind can see it. Some projects that hitherto seem as if the Abia State Government does not have the resources to handle, this government has proven to the world that if you can just believe, you can achieve greatness.. Look at the Port Harcourt Road project handled by Julius Berger, which is still on going, that is massive. Should we talk about the concluded 6 lane Ossah road project which is now Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard or the Umuahia/Bende/Isuikwuato and Ohafia road project which is still on going or the multiple roads commissioned in Aba? The governor has done creditably well in infrastructure”

“In sports, entertainment industry, health, education, and many other areas, Governor Otti has exceeded expectation” he concluded.

While contributing, Comrade Emenike Jason Iroegbu, who is the General Secretary of UAAP, emphasized the need for the government to continue in this zeal and might.

“If the government can achieve this within one year, then Abians should expect much more in the next few years to come. My only advise is for the governor and his team to continue in this zeal and might, listen to the people more and make sure all their projects and programmes will benefit the larger number of Abians” he concludes.
