The House of Assembly candidate for Ohafia South State constituency under the platform of the Young Progressives Party in the 2023 General Election Hon. Arua Goodluck Egwu has resigned from the party and joins the Labour Party.

Arua, while discussing with news, men stated his resignation in a statement made available to our correspondent.

The statement read “Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am resigning as member of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), effective 11th March, 2024.

This decision has not been an easy one, having served as the candidate of YPP for Ohafia South State Constituency in the 2023 General Election, I hold the YPP and its values in high regard, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time serving the party in all capacity.

However, after careful consideration, I have determined that it is in my best interest to pursue my political ambitions within the Labour Party (LP).

This change allows me to more effectively align my personal goals with a party platform that I believe best reflects my current political views. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have served under YPP.

I am proud of the work we have accomplished together, and I have the utmost respect for the party leadership and my fellow members“.
