The Governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP in Abia State, Dr Ukpai Iro Ukpai has rejected in totality the campaign poster associating him with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, saying it was done without his consent and does not in anyway represent his kind of politics. The NNPP Candidate who strongly condemned the poster, said his ideology and experience is different from his opponents and there’s no need trying to distract him with what will never be.

A statement by the Director of Communication,  Dr. Ukpai Campaign Organization, DUCO, Hon. Chibuisi Mba said 

“A new twist was yesterday added to the mischievous attempts  by the opposition parties in the State to distract the smooth sailing campaign of our party, the NNPP in Abia State, when a poster suddenly emerges with the picture of the incoming governor of Abia state, Dr Ukpai Iro Ukpai and that of Mr Peter Obi of the LP and other inscriptions suggesting falsely that it came from the Abia Christian Community, ACC, the largest Christian group in the state that recently endorsed the frontrunner governorship candidate. Dr. Ukpai who’s been traversing the State with his revolutionary Technology takes over Abia State from 2023 message was not aware of this distraction by the enemies of our party and got his attention to it. Dr Ukpai did not and cannot authorize such”.

Hon. Mbah went further to say that “We want to state clearly that Dr. Ukpai Iro Ukpai, did not endorse any poster with the image of another Presidential candidate, other than the incoming President of Nigeria in the person of His Excellency Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, PhD, FNSE,  the former Governor of Kano State, National Leader and Presidential candidate of our great party NNPP who has been traversing the country to ensure victory for our great party NNPP.

We cannot serve two masters at a time. Dr  Ukpai is not a man of double standards and he will never share his loyalty no matter the pressure.

With a few months to the March governorship election, the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Governorship Candidate, Iro Ukpai, is well focused on victory and will not allow frivolous insinuations and attempt by disgruntled elements to distract him especially now that Abians have clearly welcomed NNPP as the alternative to PDP, APC, and APGA. Abians are looking for a transformational Leader, to pull them out of the big hole PDP dug us into for nearly 24 locust years.

We are loyal to our party NNPP and committed to ensuring the emergence of his Excellency Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as the next President of Nigeria come February 25th and Dr Ukpai as next Governor of Abia State come March 11″, Mbah concluded
