They say politics is a game of permanent interest and no permanent enemies. But it takes pragmatism and dynamism to understand politics to that level as demonstrated by Hon. Uko Nkole condoled with Senator MAO Ohuabunwa, and donated a live Cow to support his mother’s burial.
Many would have expected otherwise, especially the opposition who would prefer a divided PDP to a united one because it will accord them advantage as a house that is divided among itself can never stand.
Recall that there was a Media attack from both end of the fence which was targeted at destabilizing the PDP stability. A Media war that was misplaced or just instigated by external forces.
But in his magnanimous approach to issues, Uko Nkole waded in and called his Media Aids to order and further displayed strength in leadership by personally coming to mourn with MAO Ohuabunwa on his mother’s burial.
This is a signal to opposition that PDP is more formidable and well-knitted together than ever and so should begin to find a new strategy since this one did not work for them.
As expected, a burial of such magnitude becomes a gathering of the political juggernauts from across board as all political parties were duly represented at the burial ceremony.
The good book says there is time for everything. “A time to play politics and a time to come together to condole with a bereaved person”
If only political players can tow the path of peace and maturity as exhibited by Hon. Uko Nkole, the masses will begin to feel more of the dividends of democracy.
When politicians can learn to shun rancor, animosity and personal pride to put the interest of the masses first, Nigeria will become more conducive for the much needed political emancipation.
All for the Ohuabunwas
