Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, has announced a nine-day “FCT Week” to mark the official opening of completed projects in the FCT. President Bola Tinubu has authorized this schedule for the opening of finished projects. Wike shared this information after completing the final inspection of ongoing projects set for commissioning in the FCT. The commercial launch of the Abuja Rail Mass Transit on May 27 will kick off FCT Week.

During FCT Week, the President will unveil various projects, including the Vice President’s official residence, the Outer Southern Motorway (OSEX), and the B6 and B12 Circle Road. Wike commended the contractors for meeting their commitment to complete the projects on time and expressed satisfaction with the progress.

He also mentioned that the FCT Administration has ensured readiness to commission the projects and has provided sufficient funding. With the President’s approval, the inauguration of the various projects is expected to begin on the 27th of this month. Wike anticipates the official launch of the commercial operation of the Abuja Metro line on the 27th after the final inspection on Monday.
