The FCT Police Command issued a warning to the public following the event, advising them to use caution when handling metal garbage cans. Rather, they advise disposing of waste in rubber or plastic containers. The switch to non-metallic containers is thought to be a preventative step to lower the possibility of accidents with metal garbage cans that overheat.
This incident emphasises how crucial it is to educate the public about the possible risks connected to specific trash disposal techniques. Safety measures are being actively promoted by authorities to reduce hazards and guarantee the health and safety of waste management workers and the public. In order to avoid future occurrences of this kind, the police stress the importance of being vigilant and following advised garbage disposal procedures while their investigations are ongoing.
