Justice Joy Uwanna, a high court judge, and her driver were abducted by gunmen on Monday in Akwa Ibom State’s Oron Local Government Area.
It was learned that the attack along the Uyo-Okobo route claimed the life of the judge’s orderly.

Toroscho Eyene, the chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association’s Oron section, confirmed the news to our correspondent on Tuesday. He stated that during a court session, the judge was abducted and taken to Uyo.
He revealed that tomorrow (Wednesday) is the scheduled meeting between the association’s members and the State Commissioner of Police and the Department of State Services, or DSS.
“Yes, the Oron sitting judge was abducted yesterday (Monday) while returning to Uyo following a court session,” Eyene stated. We are travelling to Uyo by tomorrow, Wednesday, to discuss the matter with the DSS and Commissioner of Police Olatoye Durusinmi.
At the time this story was filed, Odiko Macdon, the Public Relations Officer for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, was not available for comment.
