Three villagers were killed when suspected bandits attacked farmers in the Sabon Layi community in Kaduna State’s Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area.
OHAFIATV News recalls that the neighborhood experienced a similar attack a few weeks prior. Nine people died, and several more left their homes.
Three farmers were killed, according to a farmer named Mallam Nasir Yusuf, who claimed to have narrowly escaped the most recent attack, while others managed to flee with gunshot wounds.
Usman Kasai, the chairman of the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), confirmed the attack and stated that the victims were at their farm working when the bandits attacked.
Anas Sabonlayi, Abubakar Dankibiya, and Harisu Un-Guwar Lemu were the victims, according to Kasai, who also noted that they were residents of Sabon Layi in the Kakangi ward.
Neither the state government nor the police authorities had made any official statements about the incident as of the time this report was filed.
Police Public Relations Officer DSP Mohammed Jalige, Kaduna State Police Command, did not return his calls, and he did not reply to a text message that was sent to him.
