The Member Representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole has credited the training he received at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka as the foundation for his life accomplishments.
Hon. Nkole was speaking to a delegation from the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Prof. Charles E. Igwe, who came to interview him in his Lagos Apartment at Ikoyi, as one of the first 60 Outstanding Alumni of the University for their 60th Anniversary Publication.
The erudite Federal Lawmaker noted that the UNN groomed him in character and learning and gave him the confidence to pursue his life goals. He recalled that he participated actively in Departmental, Faculty, and SUG Politics while in School holding different offices and noted that his University political activities gave him the confidence to participate in National politics and occupy the office he is occupying today.
Hon. Nkole, who holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography, a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Management and is currently undertaking his PhD, all from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, expressed his pride to be nominated by the University as one of its first 60 Outstanding Alumni among the hundreds of thousands that have passed through the University since inception and noted that the University has produced Outstanding Graduates who have gone on to excel in their various sectors of endeavour and noted that UNN is a gift to Nigeria and the world.
Hon. Nkole went down memory lane, remembering classmates, schoolmates, academic and non-academic staff, and Administrators of the school while he was there, noting that UNN is both a breeding and training ground for leadership beyond the course you came to study and assured that he will continue to do his best to remain an outstanding Alumni of the University.
Earlier in their opening remarks, Members of the Visiting Team, Japh Ojerogbe, Percy Owoaye, and Femi Awobode informed Hon. Nkole that the UNN provided them with details of 60 Outstanding Alumni to profile for a Special publication marking the 60th Anniversary of the University and that Hon. Nkole is one of the Alumni whose details were provided by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
They commended Hon. Nkole for his inspirational life trajectory and wished him well in his future endeavors.
