The member representing Arochukwu/ Ohafia Federal Constituency,  Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole on Monday, January 18, 2021, flagged off the distribution of Educational and Instructional materials worth over Two Hundred million naira to the over 180 Public schools across the 22 wards in the Federal Constituency being part of the 2020 constituency projects he attracted through the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC in the 2020 FGN budget under implementation.

Rep. Member Nkole speaking while flagging off the exercise at the Abia Community Primary School, in Ohafia LGA said that he attracted the Educational materials for public schools in his Constituency in line with an appeal made by Teachers across the federal Constituency during a meeting with them in April 2017.

Uko Nkole promised to continue to meet the educational needs of the pupils in the federal Constituency and noted that the gesture will to a great extent complement the efforts of our educational friendly leader Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Administration towards providing qualitative and affordable Education for all Abians.

The assorted modern Educational and Instructional materials include whiteboard, classroom desks/Chairs, Desktop computer sets with UPS, Printers Headteachers and teachers table and chairs, Filing Steel Cabinet, Generator, Textbooks, Exercise books, Stationeries, Mathematical sets, Marching Band sets among others are part of his strategy to scale up enrollment into public Schools and to secure a better future for the pupils as Education remains the only key and pathway for sustainable development in any society.

” I am very happy to be in your midst. I am very proud of the Headteacher, the entire staff, and the Management cadre of Abia Ohafia Community School for their steadfastness and commitment in inculcating good morals in the pupils. I believe so much in Education because if you train a child, you have trained a Nation and the problem of the society will be lesser”.

Continuing, Nkole said the provision of the Educational materials will go a long way to reduce the burden by the parents and reavowed his determination to continue to attract tangible and visible projects that will stand the test of time across the federal Constituency.

” I want to assure all that the materials shall fairly be distributed across the over one hundred and eighty-six public schools in Arochukwu Ohafia/ federal constituency”.

He urged the School Management and pupils to make judicious use of the materials while calling on the youths and the respective village unions to help provide security for the materials to enable it to serve its purpose. Nkole directed that the modern classroom desks be spread across the classes in order of performance to challenge others to wake up from slumber.

Uko Nkole noted that the need for more teachers in public schools as well as the need to reduce the burden on parents led to the motion on the need to regularize employment of PTA Teachers across the country and promised to help renovate the Abia Community classroom blocks as he has done in several schools and shall continue to intervene.

In his speech, the traditional ruler of Abia Ohafia Community, Ezieogo Emmanuel Amah Ebere commended the giant strides of Hon. Uko Nkole describing it as unprecedented and assured him of the continuous support of the Community.

” Others since 1999 has occupied your seat for more than Eights years without any visible project, but you have within your 5 years in Office performed and achieved what they couldn’t do. This is not the first time you have remembered our community. We thank you for equipping our Primary Health Care Centre with hospital equipment and consumables, our pupils also benefitted from the registration of First School Leaving Certificate Examinations for indigent pupils across the federal Constituency and I believe the love you have for our Community propelled you to list our Primary School as one of the beneficiaries of the distribution of the latest Academic materials. You will remain evergreen in our memories for always being the “EYE” of the Rural populace”.

” Therefore, it is our prayer that God will continue to guide, protect and help you in your lofty vision to make our Constituency the most enviable with projects” and above all lift you higher politically for we trust you shall do more”, Ezieogo Emmanuel added.

Also, the President General of Abia Ohafia Development Union, Elder Nduka Okwara, and the Headteacher of Akanu Ohafia Community School Mrs. Precious Eke Obidiya said that the federal lawmaker Uko Nkole has through his numerous projects scattered across the federal Constituency distinguished himself as a true servant -Leader.

Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole had earlier called on the traditional ruler of Abia Community Ezieogo, Emmanuel Amah Ebere in his palace where he was decorated as “INDIGEBE OF ABIA OHAFIA” community alongside Hon. Kingsley Imaga, the former Commissioner for Transport, Abia State.
