As the reality of lockdown occasioned by COVID-19 continues to hit hard on the people, especially following the discriminatory pattern so far adopted by the Federal Government in distribution of palliatives to indigent Nigerians. It became imperative that good spirited groups and individuals reacted by providing palliative stimulus to their people to avoid starvation that is currently facing many families in the South East.
In a press release sent to OTVNews from abroad by a Coalition of Igbo Groups and signed by their respective leaders, they commended the proactive actions of the South East States Governors who did not abandoned their citizens like the Federal Government as well as many individuals that have proved that the strength of the strong can carry the weak through.
While also commending OYC, IPOB, Igbo Students and host of others that have made life bearable for the people, they called on Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe particularly to rise up to his duty as the people representative rather than hiding behind the deeds of others because one whon much is given, much is expected.
The release also mocked him and reminded him that disparaging and disowning IPOB is not a yardstick for his future political careers because everyone knows that his signing of Nnamdi Kanu’s bail in the past was just playing a political card for his own good.
The Press Release reads; interalias:
Covid 19 Palliative: Coalition of Igbo Groups Want Abaribe to Empower his Constituency….mock him as he disowned IPOB
. .Commends Igbo Governors, Ohanaeze Youths and Ipob on Palliative Care for Igbos.
(1) Coalition of igbo Groups namely World Igbo Youth Congress, Southeast Women Professionals, and Igbo Students Union had lauded Igbo Governors for the Proactive Preventive Measures put in place to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the South East, irrespective of three index cases in Enugu (2) and Anambra (1), Coalition insists that Enugu and Anambra Governors were Proactive in ensuring non escalation of the index cases in both States.
(2) Southeast Governors Palliative Care and Stimulus packages had provided Succor for the vulnerable people in attempt to cushion the effects of lockdown in the South East, Governors Ikpeazu and Umahi’s palliative care were exceptional as Ikpeazu Stimulus packages leads others, Ipob donation of thousands of bags of Rice to the agitators in Old Eastern Region and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Palliative money for Igbos trapped in the North were highly Commended,Urge Federal Government to do the needful and extend palliative money for Igbos .
(3) Coalition of igbo Groups want Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe to empower his Constituency which is in dare need of palliative care, he should desist from hiding under Abia political leaders Stimulus Packages, and roll out his Covid 19 Stimulus packages for his constituency, Abia South senatorial zone had lacked the presence of any Federal Constituency project since 13 years now Abaribe is in the Senate, Abaribe’s Continuous denial of Comments on ipob and Chinese doctors are inconsequential but as it’s a gimmick to controversially divert attention and abscond from giving any palliative care to his Constituency, it’s on record that after Abaribe’s Surety for Nnamdi Kanu,he went to World Igbo Congress in USA, and discouraged Igbos from giving financial support for Ipob, it’s on record that Abaribe’s Utterances and actions in support of ipob is for his realisation of future political ambition by 2023, denying his well publicized comments on is laughable and afterthought.
In related development, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide had described the new Lagos Bandits in the name ” 1million boys Everywhere ” exploiting disadvantages of the lockdown in the Lagos to engage in looting of goods from mainly igbo shops in Lagos at the weekend as apolitical induced revolution due to hunger and diversion of Federal Government Cash Transfer into private pockets, We Urge Yoruba leaders to call their wards to order, and OYC Urge Inspector General of Police to beef up Security and secure lives and properties.
