As the political atmosphere begins to gather in Abia State towards leadership at the Local Government Levels as required by the Law, many bridges and alliances are taking shape as expected, and interests are aligning accordingly for the common goal of choosing leaders that will be pragmatic and dedicated to handling the affairs of the 17LGAs.

In this light, therefore, the Director-General of Atikulated Agenda Worldwide, CEO/Chairman, Stercoll Group Corporation LTD, and one time Gubernatorial Aspirant in Abia State, Chief Dr. Emeka C. Kalu, a proud son of Bende in Bende Local Government Area, Abia State have made his interest and position known through a Press Statement he issued from his Abuja Office and signed by his Aide on Media and Publicity, Comr. Amos Kalu, made available to many houses for the right action upon same.

Bende Town is a part of the Areas forming the BENDE Local Government Area and it is from this great town that the entire LGA derived its official name – Bende. Given this background and reality, it is surprising and politically incorrect to imagine that no son of Bende origin has ever had the privilege of becoming the Chairman of Bende Local Government Area which is an equation Kalu finds unwholesome to the highest order of human conscience and reason.

It is upon this premise that he is calling on the People’s Democratic Party and all stakeholders in this project to see it as important that this anomaly be made right by giving the full support of the party to a son of Bende Origin.

Continuing, he said that he is aware of the policy of EQUITY, which has so far made the political atmosphere in Abia State to be cordial and peaceful since the dawn of democracy in Nigeria; Calling upon the party to ensure that this good arrangement should come to bear in the case of Bende Chairmanship as it is the only Midas touch that will ensure continuity and solidarity cum fame belief in the project called PDP.

“PDP is a great party, I have confidence in her ability and understanding and I am optimistic that the party will do the needful by giving Bende Town the merited opportunity of becoming the flag bearer of the party.

“I know that the position is contestable, but with the backing of the party and the understanding of every stakeholder in this project, victory will be guaranteed for a candidate of Bende origin,” He said.

He emphasized the Charter of Equity and fairness as enthroned by the fathers of the party and solicited that such equity should be held sacrosanct.

“I have respect and faith in the Party because I believe that the Charter of Equity has yielded positive results in Abia State and I pray that we held it sacred and treat it as revered in maintaining a prosperous and more fruitful internal party strength.

“I demand the people of Bende be given the chance to balance the equation of Equity in Abia State” He concluded.

Having said this, it is believed that the people of Bende must as a matter of urgency and purpose begin to scout for the right man that will be capable and qualified to stand in for the people of Bende and deliver as would be expected of him. To whom much is given, much would be expected.
