Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has unleashed a scathing criticism on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, labeling its handling of Nigeria’s fuel subsidy as “haphazard and disingenuous”.
Atiku took to social media platform X to express his concerns, attributing the country’s economic crisis to the mismanagement of subsidy reforms under Tinubu’s leadership.
According to Atiku, the policies have led to severe economic hardship, with rising inflation rates drowning the well-being of Nigerians. “As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate,” he stated.
The sharp rise in inflation has become a major concern across the country, with millions struggling to cope with the increased cost of living.
Atiku also attacked President Tinubu, accusing him of being indifferent to the suffering of citizens. “It is even more worrying that T-pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country,” he tweeted, using a nickname to refer to Tinubu .
This criticism comes amid growing public dissatisfaction with the current administration’s economic policies, particularly its management of fuel subsidies.
