The Onitsha zone AGN patron, Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, has expressed shock and grief at the tragic death of John Paul Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope, and the three others who died with him.

Reacting to the incident, the cleric, philanthropist and actor described the death of the popular Nollywood star and the others as unfortunate. He regretted that their deaths would have been averted if some measure of precaution was applied.

Bishop Nwankpa further expressed his regret at the successive deaths of Nollywood stars in the most recent time and described it as huge losses to the industry.

The cleric prayed to God to console the Nollywood family, and the families of the deceased, and give them comfort in this most traumatic time.

Junior Pope, alongside three others, had a boat accident and fell into the Anam River on their way to a location on Wednesday, 10th April, 2024.
