On Thursday, the FCT Minister hosted Somalia’s ambassador, Jamal Mohammed Barrow, in his office.
The ambassador asked the FCT Administration to help Somalia develop Mogadishu using his experiences.
“We hope Nigeria is the best role model for Somalia now because we have gone through the same experiences as the civil war, and we feel Nigeria can be our example in the future, especially in Abuja,” he said.
Wike said that the FCT Administration for Foreign Missions would support and approve the land allocation request for the Somali Chancery in Abuja.
“Our goal is to make guests comfortable. Tell us what you think FCT will do. “We always cooperate with our guests, especially foreign missions,” Wike said.”We will immediately request the file so you can build your chancery on your land. After this discussion, I will call for the file so you can get it approved and start building your chancery, he said.
Wike noted that Nigeria and Somalia share a history of civil wars and pledged to share the FCT Administration’s city development experiences with Somalia as it develops Mogadishu.
After the envoy invited him to visit Mogadishu to see how it looked, the FCT Minister said he would.
The minister said: “Mogadishu is a city, Somalia’s capital. We want to see the city, too. We believe we will work out an arrangement to share and pass on city development experiences.
