Amos Oge KaluA well-deserved award has been bestowed on a medical expert of repute, Hon. Dr. Elizabeth Ndidiamaka Obioma for an outstanding patient supporter in Nigeria, from Advocacy for the Rights of Patients and the Aged Person in Nigeria initiative (ARPAPN).
Hon. Dr. Obioma, the CEO/Director of the Abuja Unity Hospital, has won outstanding patient supporter in Nigeria for her selflessness and her dedication to ensuring that Nigerians are given the right medical attention, irrespective of status, tribe, or creed, this has endeared her to many Nigerians and placed her in good standing with both government and individuals for her intercessory role in enhancing medical practice.
It is worthy of note that this medical phenomenon has since starting her practice in her hospital 12 years ago, never recorded any death incidence, not because she is perfect, or better than everyone else, but because there’s grace that is speaking upon her as a result of the path of honor she chose to thrive in her service to humanity.
There is no doubt then, why corporate bodies, individuals, and groups are calling on her to be more active in other aspect of advancing society, especially in politics because a personality with her mindset and nature is what Nigeria needs most at this point in her history to heal.
It would not be out of place to advise and encourage the Ministry of Health in Nigeria to look out for people like Dr. Elizabeth Ndidiamaka Obioma, equip them, and mobilize them with greater responsibility in the fight to stop infant and maternal death in Nigeria as she has displayed unparalleled capacity and dedicated dexterity in her discharge of medical services over 12 years and running. Her plans to start up free program to cater for the elderly persons in the society is an idea that should be watered by well-meaning Nigerians.
I encourage others to follow the strides of ARPAPN for seeking her out to appreciate her contribution to the medical field, society, and humanity at large.
