Beginning in March 2024, the Central Bank of Nigeria would freeze bank accounts that do not come with BVN or NIN.
A deadline for freezing bank accounts without a Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identity Number (NIN) has been established by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
CBN has said that beginning in April 2024, bank accounts that do not have a NIN and BVN will be prohibited.
On Friday, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) issued a circular stating that on March 1, 2024, a “Post No Debit or Credit” will be applied to fund accounts that do not have a BVN or NIN.
