The 2023 Abia state governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has promised to review the bill setting up the Abia State Oil Producing Area Developing Commission (ASOPADEC) for the inclusion of Ukwa East L.G.A.
Chief Kalu made this known yesterday in the Ohuru Nkporobe Autonomous Community of Ukwa East after his attention was drawn to the four uncapped oil wells of the community.
The former Chief of Staff to the Abia State Government, who admitted that he never knew Ohuru had oil wells when he initiated the executive bill for the formation of ASOPADEC, said such a mistake would be corrected if elected into office.
Similarly, on his part, Chief (Hon.) Sylvanus Nwaji, the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal House of Representatives candidate of the APP, said he would legislatively push for the Ohuru community to be a beneficiary of NDDC projects.
The APP tour train rounded off the ward-round tour of Ukwa East, visiting eight (8) ABSIEC wards yesterday—Ohuru Nkporobe, Ikwuorie, Akwaete, Ohandu, Ikwueke West, Obohia, Mbamabuo, and Ikwueke East.
