Egypt will be without their right-back, Omar Kamal, when they take on Senegal in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final on Sunday due to yellow card accumulation suspension.
Omar started the 2021 AFCON with the Pharaohs on the bench, as Al Ahly’s Akram Tawfik was the starting right-back.
However, after an opening game long-term injury, Tawfik was no longer an option for Egypt.
The Egypt coach, Carlos Queiroz, replaced Tawfik with Kamal following the latter’s injury.
Kamal quickly became a fan’s favorite, putting on impressive displays against Ivory Coast, Morocco, and Cameroon.
Unfortunately, Kamal will not be able to feature for Egypt in their next and last match of the 2021 AFCON against Senegal due to his yellow card accumulation.
The 28-year-old received his first yellow card against Morocco in the quarter-final stage before being handed the second one in the Cameroon clash in the semi-final, resulting in his one-game suspension.
The kick-off time for the Egypt vs Senegal match is 8 pm.
