A group under the auspices of Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI), South-East Chapter, has commended Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike over his leadership qualities, sacrifices and commitment in keeping the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, united.

A press release by the South-East Coordinator of the group, Chief Dr. Sam Anya, a copy of which made available to journalists on Thursday, noted that while the All Progressives Congress, APC, were “still battling with parallel congresses across the 36 states of the federation, the PDP has remained one indivisible family.”

The group while hailing the Rivers Governor for spearheading the peace, unity and stability of the party through his nationwide tour, stated that “only the spirit of sportsmanship in the party and among all stakeholders could allow for peaceful, violence-free polls.”

The group also commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and other leaders of the party from the South East geo-political zone for their unity.

“GDI South-East Chapter is proud of the leadership qualities of Governor Nyesom Wike. He has continually demostrated capacity and maturity in all leadership positions.

“We are commending him for his role in stabilising the PDP alongside other governors of the party. He is truly a party man and we appreciate his efforts in promoting the unity of the party across the six geopolitical zones.

“Wike is an experienced leader and we are convinced that the nation needs him in the next dispensation. He is eminently qualified for any position he aspires for, he is a bridge-builder across regional, ethnic and religious lines and he is capable of delivering even the most difficult task. Wike has worked so hard for the PDP, and we are commending him for his efforts,” the group said.
