Lead Teachers lauds Hon. Nkole.
The two days training of Headteachers and teachers in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency on modern teaching methods and the use of ICT tools in teaching and learning process has ended with a call on the teachers to embrace technology so as to make their work easier and more effective.
Delivering his lecture on the use of ICT tools in teaching and learning process, one of the resource persons Mr Hillary Chibueze Weke emphasized the need for the teachers to adapt the new order which is the use of technology. He charged the teachers to make good use of their smartphone and other electronic gadgets which he described as micro computers for research, writing of lesson, notes, Powerpoint presentations, online teaching amongst others.
On modern teaching methods, Dr Mrs Achama Malik who is also a resource person noted that there is a paradigm shift from the traditional methods of teaching to modern teaching methods due to the fast changing and dynamic nature of the world. She said that the training will help the teachers to acquire basic knowledge of the modern teaching methods and basic skills on the use of modern instructional materials.
Earlier in his speech, the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency; Rt. Hon Uko Nkole represented by his Legislative Assistant Mr Kalu Ofem noted that he devoted over two hundred million naira in the 2020 appropriation act to supply of schools with modern instructional materials through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) which have been distributed to various public schools in Arochukwu and Ohafia, hence the imperativeness to acquaint the teachers with the requisite knowledge on how to use the morden instructional materials for effective teaching and learning to the benefit of the end users – the pupils.
In their different speeches, the Education Secretary of Arochukwu Local Government Education Authority; Mrs Patricia Nwankwo and Mrs Emelda Njoku from the National Boundary Commission Abuja commended the Member Representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole for his interventions in Education and for investing in the capacity development of the teachers. They thanked the resource persons and the organizers for putting up a successful Programme and urged the teachers to ensure they transfer the knowledge they acquired to their colleagues.
Over 150 Headteachers and Teachers were trained while certificate of participation were issued to them at the end of the two days training.
