The Premier League, EPL, has announced that ten persons have tested positive for the novel coronavirus after the latest phase of mass testing.
The English top-flight league confirmed this in a statement on its official website on Monday.
The number of COVID-19 positive tests is on the rise in the EPL, following the confirmation of three or four positive cases in each of the last three weeks.
It read: “The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 21 September and Sunday 27 September, 1,595 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19.
“Of these, there were 10 new positive tests.
“Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.”
