It was a beauty to behold the expression of love that was accorded the Accord candidate for the Abia State Gubernatorial contest, Amb. Bishop Dr. Emeka Michael Nwankpa, as he visited Aba South Local Government Area where he was received by the Accord House of Assembly Candidate, Ebere Smart, and a gathering of respected men and women of the LGA, including Ndi Eze, Traditional Chiefs, women, and youths.

One of the significant parts of the campaign visit was when he normally entertain questions and answers from his host. This is a normal style for him because he believes that it allows him to listen and feel the heartbeat of the people to equally understand how to tackle their concerns. According to the astute clergyman, it allows him to commit to them by giving his words on what he will do for them when elected the governor of the state. In the end, he always tells the people to hold him by his word which is his bond.

During his response, Bishop makes some surprising revelations about the workings of the Abia state and how money meant for the development of the state is diverted to personal use while the state keeps lagging in all spheres of life. He promised that he will work hard to change all that because the state money under him will only go to the development of the state and workers will receive their wages as at when due. He assured the excited audience that as a man of God, his only dream is to fix Abia and make it work for everybody before he will return the state to the people.

At Ihie in Isiala Ngwa North, Bishop Nwankpa lamented that the area has lacked the development it deserved for too long due to neglect by successive administrations, no light, no roads, and no water notwithstanding that they have popular educational institutions in Abia state. but he assured his teeming supporters that he is going to do everything within his power to ensure that the area is remembered.
According to the senior pastor, Ihie is one of the first places the white men set foot on when they came to that part of Igbo land and wondered why such a place will remain underdeveloped for too long. He however assured them of a new hope that will come with his leadership as governor of Abia State.

In response, the people expressed joy and satisfaction, assuring him of their total belief in his words as a true man of God. They promised him their maximum support and appealed that he must endeavor to be different from previous politicians who come to get their support but forget them after the work is done and they are delivered.

Bishop has been a sensation anywhere he goes because he has come with a totally different ideology and approach to politics. He believes that one doesn’t need a godfather to lead the people, rather must be driven by passion and burden to rescue his people from bad leadership, and that is why he has come.
