As the governorship election in Abia state draws near and with the people of Abia North Zone battling to see that power returns to the zone, the Council of Item Traditional Rulers has described the governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, as the best shot for Abia North to reclaim the number one seat of Abia.

The traditional rulers spoke in one accord when Chief Kalu visited them yesterday at the palace of HRH, Eze Jerry Agbala. They expressed their joy that the former Chief of Staff to the Abia State Government is in the governorship race, describing him as the most competent candidate from the Abia North extraction that has what it takes win the election while endorsing him.

“It is a thing of joy for us that you are in this race to save Abia North from this shame. Item is in support of you because we know you are Abia North’s best shot for the electoral battle.

“You have the competence, capacity, and experience for the job, having worked as Chief of Staff”, the Chairman of the Item Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Kalu Mba (Mgbidi I of Umunnato Autonomous Community), who spoke on behalf of the council said.

In his address, the APP governorship candidate highlighted the level of hard work he has put in by touring every part of Abia day and night, assured the traditional rulers that he will disappoint their confidence in him, and said, by God’s grace, he will bring the crown home.

The APP tour train visited six ABSIEC wards across Alayi and Item clans in Bende L.G.A yesterday— Alayi A and B; Item A, B, C, and D.
