The newly confirmed running mate of Engineer Y. Y. Sani, the Presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, has expressed confidence in the possibilities of ending the insurgency, agitation, banditry, kidnapping, and other social vices threatening the continued existence of Nigeria as a sovereign nation.

Pastor Okey Okoro Udo disclosed this during an interview session with pressmen at the Action Democratic Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja when he was officially unveiled by the party’s leadership, headed by the Presidential Flag Bearer of the party, Engr Y. Y. Sani as the Running-Mate of the indefatigable leader with a passion for a better, productive and a progressive Nigeria.

While responding to many questions, among which included how to tackle the dreaded insurgency and other security challenges in Nigeria, the clergy assured Nigerians that it is only the political will of any government that can end insurgency when it is given the priority it deserved to fight it without bias and political undertone.

“The only reason these security challenges have lingered is that it has been politicised to make it a cash cow for the people that are charged with the sacred duty of ending it. The morale of our servicemen is at its lowest ebb and needs to be reactivated because Nigeria has one of the strongest forces in Africa and is very capable of defeating a ragtag group troubling her waters. But we will give it every attention it deserves because Engr Y. Y. Sani is a man with determination, passion, zeal and political will to get Nigeria working again. He will look into all the causes of these security challenges and address them holistically”, he said.

According to him, only diversification of the Economy and heavy investment in ICT, SMEs and Agriculture can tackle unemployment and make terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, agitation, etc, unattractive to the youths when they become more productive and self-reliant.

“Nigeria have a good population of youths that must drive her from a consuming economy to a production economy that will ensure accelerated growth in all facets of her national life. The government of Engr Y. Y. Sani will have a blueprint that will guarantee an economic turnaround within the first 100 days in office. Of course, this will be in great collaboration with Nigerians whose welfare will form the bulk of the saving administration. That is why we are seeking the mandate of the people to allow us to make Nigeria work again for all her citizens.

“Engineer Y. Y. Sani is a nationalist leader with a unifying personality that will redirect Nigeria to the path of national unity among Nigerians of all tribes, religions and creeds” he assured.

Meanwhile, the official declaration and submission of Pastor Okey Udo to INEC has made ADP one of the first political parties that have beaten the back and forth of choosing running mates that are still plaguing other parties in Nigeria.
