Through Nigeria Communications Satellite Limited or NIGCOMSAT, the Nigerian government has launched an initiative to transform underprivileged communities access to dependable and reasonably priced internet services.
According to the agency, it has forged a ground-breaking alliance with a few private businesses that specialise in providing rural connectivity solutions.
She claims that the strategic partnership intends to transform underprivileged communities across the nation’s access to dependable and reasonably priced internet services.
Bantam stated that to connect remote and rural areas that have historically lacked access to the internet, NIGCOMSAT and the private entities would combine their respective strengths to deploy state-of-the-art satellite technology and creative connectivity solutions.
Through the combination of Hotspot’s experience with rural connectivity and NIGCOMSAT’s vast satellite infrastructure, this partnership will enable communities to close the digital divide and open up new avenues for socioeconomic development.
“We at NIGCOMSAT are dedicated to utilising our technological prowess to propel digital transformation and enhance the quality of life for Nigerians, particularly those residing in marginalised areas,” the spokesperson stated.
NIGCOMSAT Limited’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, gave the following explanation: “Our partnership with Hotspot demonstrates our steadfast commitment to connecting the disconnected and making sure that no community is left behind in the digital age.”
