Though it was a moment of mourning for the entire community, it was also a moment of display of unity that has come to stay among Christians of Okon-Aku Ohafia as they turn out en masse to accord last respect to Madam Nwanediya Idikachukwu, a Christian woman and the Mother of their colleague, Rev. Precious Idikachukwu (the National Coordinator of Okon-Aku Gospel Ministers).
The burial which took place on Friday 23rd February 2024 is adjourned the first Burial ceremony ever attended by OCF as an organization in a long time.
After the show of solidarity with the bereaved family who expressed appreciation for the the unprecedented show of love, they penned down a touching message:
I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the Okon Aku Gospel Ministers forum, for standing by my family shoulder to shoulder in the time of bereavement that ended yesterday the 23rd of February 2024.
Your physical presence and the show of tremendous love during the burial of my mother were very encouraging. Your presence and support made all the difference and gave the Gospel another level entirely in our town.
On behalf of my Family (The Idikachukwu’s), I pray that the God of Grace will honor every one of you in Jesus’ name. Thank you immensely for putting this smile in our mouths: we do not take this for granted. In that vein, I appreciate the leadership of our indefatigable Leader and President General of OCF, Bishop Dr. Stanley David JP, for his visionary leadership and the entire Executive, including the OCF body in general.
Indeed Ndi Ebin and the entire Okon in general knew that something different had been born.
We remain grateful.
