The House of Representatives granted President Bola Tinubu’s request for N500 billion to be used as a buffer against the elimination of gasoline subsidies in less than 24 hours.
The House granted the request on Thursday by revising the Supplementary budget and approving the president’s proposal.
Recall that on Wednesday, President Tinubu requested clearance for the N500 billion in a letter.
After considering it, the House adopted the bill.
The president abolished the contentious petroleum subsidy program at his inauguration, which resulted in a 200% increase in the retail price of PMS.
