…Urges Citizens to Take Responsibility
Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor, “the Undefeated Ultimate Commander” and President of the United Abia Artistes & Patriots (UAAP), has praised Governor Alex Otti for his security initiative, calling it a bold step toward creating a safer Abia State. “We commend Governor Otti for his vision and commitment to the safety and well-being of Abia’s citizens,” he stated.
According to OHAFIATV, in a significant effort to enhance security in Abia State, Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has launched the Abia State Security Trust Fund. This public-private initiative aims to strengthen the operational capabilities of security agencies in the state. The launch event, themed “Building a Safer Abia,” successfully mobilized over ₦3.4 billion from political and business associates to support the fund.
Speaking during the official launch held at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia, Governor Otti described the initiative as a key component of his administration’s holistic approach to crime prevention. He assured that all funds raised through the Trust Fund would be judiciously utilized to strengthen security across the state.

“Security is not the job of government alone. Every citizen has a role to play,” the Governor said. “This Trust Fund is designed to provide the resources needed to equip our security agencies to better protect our people and their property.”
Governor Otti recalled his commitment on assumption of office, to reclaim every part of Abia from the grip of criminal elements. He expressed satisfaction that peace has steadily returned to the state, attributing the progress to targeted interventions like Operation Crush. However, he emphasized that his administration would not rest until lasting security is achieved.
Also present at the event were the member representing Aba North and South in the House of Representatives, Hon. Alex Ikwuecheghe; the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mrs. Nkeiruka Onyejiocha; former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah; and World Undefeated Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor-De Ultimate Commander (President of Aba Commercial Smart City, and Global Leader of the United Abia Artists and Patriots Forum), Engr. Henry Okoroafor, MD Blessed Henken Int’l Construction, the Oil Magnate, Mrs UJU Ifejirika-CEO Brithena-U Group and Engr. Kelechi Orji CEO of ROXETTES Motors, all underscored the need for collective commitment to securing Abia and Nigeria at large during their seperate speeches.
In his address, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Abia State Security Trust Fund, Mr. Obiamaraije Stanley, represented by the Vice Chairman, Sir Johnson Chukwu, explained that the Fund—established by law—is a public-private partnership initiative. It is aimed at mobilizing resources from both government and non-governmental stakeholders to enhance the operational capabilities of security agencies across the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Ide John Udeagbala, noted that every individual must take responsibility in supporting the governor’s efforts to achieve sustainable security. He stressed the need for citizens to be proactive by reporting any incidences of criminal activity to the appropriate authorities.
On a positive note, the trust fund has received contributions from several prominent individuals, including Chief Adedeji Adeleke, who donated ₦500 million; Chief Arthur Eze, who contributed ₦200 million; Chief Innocent Chukwuma of Innoson Motors, who pledged ₦100 million, N50 Million donation was made by Engr. Henry Okoroafor, N50 Million by Engr. Kelechi Orji, while Former Minister Uche Ogah also made commitment to monthly donations for one year.
Other donations include: N10 Million from De Ultimate Commander (in behalf of Aba Commercial Smart City), Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwuecheghe who donated N20 Million, and many others.
The Abia State Security Trust Fund is designed to achieve three key objectives:
- Enhance security infrastructure by providing support for operational equipment, intelligence systems, and technology to detect and deter crime.
- Promote public-private partnerships by fostering collaboration between government and non-governmental stakeholders to improve security capabilities.
- Encourage community involvement in security matters and foster a sense of responsibility for safety.
The launch of the Abia State Security Trust Fund marks a new era of safety and security in the state. With the support of key stakeholders and the commitment of Governor Otti, this initiative is set to positively impact the lives of citizens and make Abia a benchmark for other states in Nigeria.
