‎The recent claims that 55 traditional rulers, lawyers, clerics, and prominent stakeholders have endorsed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for the 2027 senatorial election are being challenged and dismissed as borne out of desperation to cling to power in perpetuity. The Abia North Youth for Good Governance (ANYGG) has called into question the validity of this claim, demanding that the traditional rulers make their identities public and provide evidence of their alleged support. This was contained in a statement released by Comr. Ndidi Okafor Ejieke, Convener of ANYGG.

‎Where is the proof? A thorough examination of public records shows that no statements showing support for Senator Kalu from any such traditional Rulers are in the public domain, except for a few characters that has collected handouts for “where Belle face”. Many of these rulers have not made any public statements endorsing his candidacy or otherwise at any forum.

‎”We want to know who these traditional rulers are and what their relationship with Senator Kalu entails. Additionally, we seek evidence of their signatures and confirmation of their endorsement. The people of Abia North deserve transparency and accountability from their leaders,” the statement read inter alia..

‎The group further submits that an investigation is necessary to verify the authenticity of this claim and to uncover who is behind it. The residents of Abia North have the right to know who supports Senator Kalu and the reasons for their endorsement. We do not wish to follow the crowd because 2027 is crucial in the political life of our senatorial zone.

‎”Several pressing questions must be addressed: Who are the traditional rulers who signed the joint statement? What is their relationship with Senator Kalu? Can they provide evidence of their signatures and confirmation of their endorsement? What justifies their claim that Senator Kalu deserves to continue in office?”, he queried.

‎”By demanding proof and transparency, we can clarify this situation and ensure that the people of Abia North are not misled. The assertion of support from 55 traditional rulers for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s 2027 senatorial bid lacks evidence and credibility. It’s time for the truth; therefore, such spurious claims are a figment of the imagination of the peddlers of such Gamji Political theatrics, and it is aimed at hoodwinking the unsuspecting voters of Abia North Senatorial Zone, who believe that enough is enough.
