Another worrisome incident has been captured on camera by s courageous lady who is part of occupants of a Christian missionaries under Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.
As posted by a Facebook user, the Nigerian police has this unrepentant nature of intimidating commuters in the Southeast Zone, and most times the matter is usually over N100 bribe, at worse incidences, some innocent citizens end up being short dead.
“This is how our Nigerian Police harass and intimidate commuters and citizens of this country because of N100.
“This incident happened on 30th November 2024 at about 4.45pm at Ikem Police checkpoint, Isi-Uzo LGA, Enugu State when the Nsukka Presbytery Christian Girls’ in Training, CGIT were returning to Nsukka after their end of year meeting in Agu-Amede Parish of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria”, the Facebook post read.

One of the emphasis of every agitators of Biafra Republic is intimidation and endless police, military, NSCDC, Customs, and other government paramilitary agencies in Nigeria. To add salt to injury, the commuters are expected to pay at all these checkpoints till your last destination or risk the lives of passengers for hours on the highway.
imagine police officers who are laden with responsibility of security the lives of citizens are the ones intimidating them, arrest their driver and keep the women and young girls in the middle of nowhere. Bad as Nigeria security has become, once there is a gunshot from non state actors in that axis, the policemen detaining their vehicle will be the first to scamper for safety, leaving the innocent citizens at the mercy of bad elements.
We are calling on the Nigerian police force and other relevant authorities to investigate this matter and discipline the officers involved. It will be counter productive if the Nigerian forces continue to treat Southeasterners as a conquered people in a Nigeria that should be their fatherland.
