In a statement, Governor Uzodimma commended the Igbo people for their wisdom and prudence in avoiding the demonstrations, citing concerns about potential hijacking by miscreants.

The Governor acknowledged the right to peaceful protest, but noted that the decision to prioritize safety and stability in the region demonstrates great foresight. He praised the people of the South East for heeding his appeal to stay away from the protests, showcasing their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region.
