Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has expressed his gratitude to the people of the South Eastern region for not participating in the recent nationwide protest. In a statement, Governor Uzodimma commended the Igbo people for their wisdom and prudence in avoiding the demonstrations, citing concerns about potential hijacking by miscreants.
The Governor acknowledged the right to peaceful protest, but noted that the decision to prioritize safety and stability in the region demonstrates great foresight. He praised the people of the South East for heeding his appeal to stay away from the protests, showcasing their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region.
Governor Uzodimma’s statement reads: “I commend our people of the South Eastern region for heeding our appeal not to join the nationwide protest. Your wisdom in recognizing the potential danger of hijackers targeting peaceful demonstrators is truly commendable. While peaceful protest is undoubtedly a right of the people, your decision to prioritize safety and stability showcases great prudence.”
