A resident of Eziama Aguobu-Owa in Enugu State’s Ezeagu Local Government Area has shared his terrifying experience of being kidnapped by herdsmen. According to Sahara Reporters, the man was accused of killing a cow and was almost slaughtered before making a miraculous escape.

The victim explained that while he was being held by the herdsmen, his wife and son managed to escape and ran back to their community to report his abduction. “My wife and son escaped and came to make a report that I was seized by herdsmen inside the bush,” he said.

Unaware that his family had already escaped, the man continued to question the herdsmen about the alleged offense that warranted his killing. “I asked them, ‘Will you kill me and kill my wife? For what offense?’ At that point, I didn’t know that my family had already escaped to come home and give information on how to rescue me,” he recounted.

When the herdsmen realized that the victim’s family had escaped and alerted the community, they became fearful and released him. The victim’s wife and son played a crucial role in securing his release by seeking help from their community.
