A devastating plane crash has occurred in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, leaving 62 people feared dead. The Voepass airline confirmed that flight 2283, a twin-engine turboprop plane, crashed in the town of Vinhedo while en route from Cascavel to São Paulo city.
Eyewitness footage shared on social media shows the plane descending vertically and spiraling out of control before impact. The crash site was engulfed in flames and smoke, as captured by Brazil’s TV GloboNews.
The airline has yet to confirm the status of those onboard or the cause of the accident. The plane was carrying 58 passengers and four crew members.
