The governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, revealed that Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, the suspended Commissioner for Health, is being investigated regarding accusations made against her.

In response to allegations that he fired Chief Press Secretary Kazie Uko but left the commissioner for health reasons after the two allegedly committed offences, the governor made this statement during a media chat with reporters on Friday night.

He said that he was transferred to another agency as part of an administrative reorganisation, but he denied firing the CPS.

Otti emphasised that no job is done for life.

The health commissioner is under suspension due to alleged misbehaviour. A committee has already been formed, and the outcome will be received.

“Suspending an individual when there is a prima facie case is perfectly acceptable. She will go back to work if found not guilty; if not, she will be held accountable for the infraction,” he stated.

Otti also promised not to give up on his efforts to prosecute those responsible for the deaths of soldiers in Aba.

“This administration is concerned about security. We are doing everything in our power to make sure that those responsible for the heinous acts that resulted in the deaths of soldiers are held accountable. We’ve been receiving comments.

“We’ll notify everyone at the suitable moment. Operation Crush now has the authority to suppress crime anywhere in the state.
