The President and CEO of ECK Foundation, Chief Dr Emeka Kalu, has stressed on the need for every good meaning Abian, including Politicians, Business Entrepreneurs, Academic, private and public sectors to double their support to the current governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti for his positive developmental strides and unflinching focus at reshaping the state to become a state to reckon with in Nigeria.

Chief Kalu made this clarion call in a statement he personally signed and made available to pressmen on Tuesday. He emphasized on the need to throw away every political difference and put hands together to move Abia State forward, he also acknowledged the place of opposition in any balanced democracy, but warned that toxic and antagonistic opposition is not in the best interest of the people, rather it will creste distraction for the governor at a time he should focus on delivering dividends of democracy by implementing his lofty people-friendly policies.

“So far, unlike in the recent past, Dr Alex Chioma Otti has demotrated political will power to change the narrative for Abia State. Through his actionable programs and policies, he has lifted Abia from the lowers rungs of the ladder in Nigeria to become reference point to many States. Abia has never had it this good. Therefore any politician that believes in good of the people should throw away their political differences and throw their weight behind the performing governor. Anything other than that is not in the interest of Ndi Abia.

“We have seen and witnessed his pragmatic steps in infrastructural development that has made Abia an investment destination for investors both foreign and local. That’s why I am calling on our people in Diaspora to think investment home. His policies on IGR, responsible investment and abolishing of touting revenue generation methods has brought peace and calm to the state.

“Governor Alex Otti has broken the jinx of payment of salaries to workers and has put smiles on the faces of our pensioners in the state. Aba is gradually becoming its old self and other cities are waxing stronger and getting the needed boost in areas of security and infrastructure. To me, we must encourage him to do more by all means” he said.

The Convener of Global Initiative for Good Governance, GIGG, said that for a while in the political history of Abia State, there has been situations of lost focus in the areas delivering democratic dividends to the people until the emergence of this administration with prospects of hope.
The US-Based politician and businessman is of the informed opinion that this phase in the history of the state must be encouraged by supporting the working governor. Every criticisms must be constructive and non toxic so that the administration will not lose focus.
