The National Coordinator of People’s Democratic Party Coalition, Chief Dr Emeka Kalu, has sent a new year message to the entire PDP family with words of advice, encouragement, hope and motivation towards a better party coordination and result oriented years ahead.
In his New Year message issued on 2nd December, Chief Kalu emphasized on the inevitability of the party to come together and work in one accord so as to be in agreement with every decision that will be taken going forward, especially starting from Anambra election of 2021.
He insisted that the party must look inwards to see among the candidates, the one that is a grassrooter, that will not only be the party’s flagbearer, but also a unifier of the party in the State and beyond.
“We have to look at someone with grassroot followership that will win elections for us starting with Anambra State. We have to look at the pedigree of the aspirants rather than paying more attention to money.
“The usual practice of promising many aspirants tickets when we all know that it can be only one individual that will get the ticket will be counter productive because most of the aggrieved candidates always end up working against the party at the end and we lose the state again to other parties.
“The sooner we learn on how to play this to get everyone in one accord, the better it will become for our party come 2023 presidential elections with Anambra 2021 as period for testing the waters.
“We need to look at members that have the interest of the party at heart, and not the ones that place personal interest first, people that remembers that the rest of the party members worked hard to make it a reality for the party.
“I am advising the youths to join hands with all partymen to get things working for Nigerians in General. Only the youths can stop the trend of mortgaging their future, sacrificing their civic right and responsibility by following folks that cannot even win their wards in a free and fair election, let alone an entire state, all because they were confused with money.
“Such politicians are just pushing for personal aggrandizement and will not do anything for the state, so it is time to wake up so that we as the citizens will decide our future by ourselves.
“This is time to resist the practice of fostering of candidates on us. It is the time to work together as a party to win together in Anambra State and beyond”, he said.
