Controversial yet committed social media activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM), made headlines again — this time, not for calling out corruption or confronting celebrities, but for stepping up in a national crisis. The outspoken influencer donated a whopping ₦20 million to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to aid the repatriation of over 70 trafficked Nigerian girls stranded in Ivory Coast.
As a result of his support, VDM was officially invited to join NAPTIP and Sir Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace, to receive the young women upon their arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Saturday evening.

In an emotional post shared shortly after the reception, VDM recounted the moment he saw two of the girls visibly pregnant, a heartbreaking confirmation of the abuse and trauma they had endured abroad.
“As a very dark man, I’ve done my part with my voice and my wallet. Sir Allen Onyema has done his part with his plane. NAPTIP has done its part with coordination and rescue. Now, Immigration, it’s your turn. I’m begging you — protect our borders,” VDM said.
The girls were flown back free of charge by Air Peace, another powerful gesture by Sir Onyema, who revealed during the event that he lost over ₦300 million due to delays in the evacuation. Despite the financial hit, he still went further by paying for the medical examinations of all returnees to ensure they received immediate care upon arrival.
VDM, who was recently released from EFCC custody, used his return to the public eye not to drag or expose, but to uplift and protect. His action has earned widespread praise, with many calling it a “defining moment” in his activism.
This rescue operation showcases what can happen when citizens, the private sector, and government agencies come together for a common cause. But VDM’s message was clear: the work isn’t done.
“This should never have happened. Let’s not wait for another 70 girls to be flown back in trauma before we act. This is a call to Immigration — close the gates on traffickers.”
With this bold move, VeryDarkMan has once again proven that activism is more than just online outrage — it’s about showing up, speaking up, and backing it up with action.
