The Founder of Drum Against Malaria (DAM), Dr. Olugu Ukpai (Man on Mission), a passionate advocate for malaria prevention, has received two signed proclamations from His Worship Mayor Andy Filmore at a ceremony held at City Hall.
The proclamations recognized DAM’s (a subsidiary of CHAMA) efforts in promoting kindness and raising awareness about World Malaria Day.

The “Random Goodness Act of Kindness proclamation” on 20th March annually, acknowledges DAM’s commitment to spreading kindness and compassion in the community, aligning with their mission to prevent malaria and promote overall well-being. The World Malaria Day Awareness proclamation highlights the importance of raising awareness about malaria prevention and treatment, crucial in the fight against this life-threatening disease.
Mayor Andy Filmore commended DAM’s work, stating, “Their efforts will have a lasting impact on our community and beyond.” This recognition underscores the significance of DAM’s initiatives, including distributing insecticide-treated nets, providing malaria education, free medical missions to Africa, and advocating for policy changes to combat malaria.
Drum Against Malaria is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing malaria and promoting overall well-being in affected communities. World Malaria Day, observed annually on April 25th, provides an opportunity to raise awareness, promote education, and advocate for policy changes to combat this disease.
