A militant group, Niger Delta Rescue Movement, has issued a warning to the federal government, threatening to take decisive action, including disrupting oil production, if the federal allocation due to Rivers State is not released promptly.
According to the group, the non-payment of the allocation has resulted in the state’s inability to pay workers’ salaries and execute essential development projects.

The group emphasized that Rivers State contributes significantly to the federation account through oil revenue and therefore deserves to receive its share of the allocation without delay.
The militant group’s warning highlights the ongoing tensions between the federal government and oil-producing states over revenue allocation and resource control. The threat to disrupt oil production could have significant implications for Nigeria’s economy, which relies heavily on oil exports.
Key Demands:
- Prompt release of federal allocation due to Rivers State
- Payment of workers’ salaries
- Provision of necessary resources for development projects
Possible Consequences:
- Disruption of oil production
- Economic instability
- Escalation of tensions between federal government and oil-producing states
