Ebere Uzoukwa, a senior official of the Labour Party in Abia State, has come to the defense of Governor Alex Otti, dismissing criticisms of his policies and actions as “unwarranted” and “smear campaigns”. Uzoukwa, who serves as Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the Governor, attributed the attacks to “agents of the PDP” in the state, motivated by a desire to undermine Otti’s efforts to transform Abia.

According to Uzoukwa, the Governor’s achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture demonstrate his commitment to the state’s development. He highlighted initiatives such as school retrofitting, hospital upgrades, road construction, and agricultural support programs.

Uzoukwa also noted the socio-economic advancements under Otti’s leadership, including women’s empowerment, job creation, and improved security. He urged the people of Abia to continue supporting the Governor in achieving his vision for the state, despite what he termed “challenges orchestrated by the failures of the PDP”.
