The leaders of the Southeast have been praised by President Bola Tinubu for their coordinated efforts in leveraging their combined expertise, connections, and experience to promote development goals, peacekeeping, and strong democratic government in the area.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the Hon. Orji Uchenna Orji, Special Adviser (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Works, stated that President Tinubu expressed his appreciation during the funeral service of the late Deaconess (Mrs.) Theresa Osinachi Omoke.
The late woman was the mother of Barr. (Mrs.) Chioma Nweze, his Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement, South East.
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon. Francis Nwifuru, was specially thanked by the President, who was represented by the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, for elevating the bar for the state’s security and peace and for advancing the cause of the state and its residents’ development.
“You have raised the bar in advancing the People’s Charter of Needs of Ebonyi State, and you have taken every challenge of Ebonyi State as the challenge of the people,” he said.
The President is thrilled with the way you performed. In his letter of condolence to the deceased’s family, the President called his SSA on Community Engagement’s late mother a woman of extraordinary virtues who made incalculable contributions to the advancement of humanity and urged her and the entire Omoke family to find comfort in the achievements of her age.
“On December 18, 2023, at the age of 75, your beloved mother, an icon and the matriarch of your family, sadly passed away,” he stated, extending his condolences to you and the entire Omoke family.
The Minister of Works used the occasion to refute falsehoods spread by the media on the administration in charge of the highly praised restoration of Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge, which is currently accessible to drivers.
“The Lagos State Government did not build the Third Mainland Bridge. No, President Ahmed Tinubu gave the Federal Government instructions to carry out the task.
“Through his Minister of Works, Mr. President handled every aspect of the finances. He also used the chance to express his gratitude to the southeast’s leaders and citizens for supporting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I want to thank the Governors and appreciate their support, which is beyond party lines,” he stated. “I want to send a message of thanks from Mr. President to the people of South East for their support.”
“South East leaders will unite in a moment to publicly, openly, and heartily express our appreciation for Mr. President, and to inform Nigerians and the world that we support his agenda for renewed hope,” he declared.
The governor of Ebonyi State thanked Mr President in his speech at the event for his inclusive governance and fatherly attitude towards all the States of the federation, which have given Nigerians new hope for positive developments in the country’s political and socioeconomic history.
He sent his sincere sympathies to the family of the departed person and expressed his sympathy for the family’s situation as well as the community’s loss of her kindness and affection. As he offered prayers for her soul to rest, he pledged to preserve the honour she had left behind. .
“As a government, we must do a very important thing today,” he declared. The late mother of Barr. (Mrs.) Chioma Nweze will be honoured with a fitting pavilion constructed by the State Government in this field. We shall build the road to this field in memory of the late Deaconess (Mrs.) Theresa Osinachi Omoke JP.
