Truth they say cannot be hidden for too long. It was not long ago when the son of the former governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai appeared on a TV Show to boast of his father’s good performance which was better than that of the former governor of Anambra state and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election.
His outburst was so irritating that many Nigerians questioned his motives for taking such a path to leave defending his father by telling Nigerians what his father did to pass his good governance litmus test as his lame comparison did not make any sense to substantiate his purpose for bringing Peter Obi into a discussion that has nothing to do with him.
Well, I predicted that he was speaking in another man’s voice to draw attention to his father who is currently in political limbo by linking him to the most popular politician alive in Nigeria today. A few weeks after his special appearance on the TV show, rumors started making rounds that his father is now in a new alliance with Peter Obi to defeat Tinubu in 2027. Though Dr Peter Obi has come out to deny, to me, is still his Axe to grind because politicians are like small money on the back of its mother, you never know when he will pluck the star apple. My concern here is different
After all his boast about his father’s good performance in Kaduna State, what will he say about this viral news:
Elrufai’s administration left behind a huge debt burden of 587 million Dollars, and 85 billion Naira in debt in the state – Gov San.
I know Bello or the more rude one, Bashir would’ve covered this up if it were possible for them, but no! Truth is golden, the cat has been left out of the bag. In his usual mannerisms, Bashir El-Rufai, the hitman of the El’s has lashed out at Governor Sani, calling him names for telling the truth about his father’s shortcomings, for him, the governor should’ve kept quiet and acted as if all was well while they make up for their father’s failures on TV through lies and propaganda.
Funny enough, Bello El-Rufai has distanced himself from his brother Birshir El-Rufai’s outburst against his Boss. He no longer has an interest in defending his father’s legacies of good governance but is more interested in protecting his source of income. An honorable man would’ve resigned from working under a man that shades his father whom he loves so much. In order words, his noise about Peter Obi was just a political busybody to cover his fathers total failure as governor of Kaduna State.
