In a concerted effort to tackle criminal activities in Lagos State, law enforcement authorities conducted a series of raids resulting in the apprehension of 590 suspects from February 13 to March 13.
These operations, orchestrated by area commands, divisions, and tactical teams including the Rapid Response Squad, were initiated following directives from the state commissioner of police, Adegoke Fayoade, in response to resident complaints.
Prior to this latest crackdown, the police had already arrested 540 individuals during a similar operation spanning from December 2023 to February 13, 2024.
The suspects were apprehended at various black spots across the state, targeting areas notorious for criminal behavior.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s public relations officer, confirmed the arrests, emphasizing the significance of the raids in curbing criminal activities and ensuring public safety.
