Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR
Executive Governor of Abia State
Government House
Umuahia
Your Excellency,
YOUR CHALLENGE HAS BEGUN
It is with a heart full of joy and thanksgiving to God Almighty that I write you this letter on the occasion of your swearing-in as the 5th Executive Governor of Abia State today, May 29, 2023.
It has been a tough fight to get here. From 2015 to date, you have not given up the fight to govern Abia State. The reason for this is well known – you want to build a better and more progressive Abia which Abians shall be proud of.
Needless to tell you that the expectations are too high. Needless to tell you that much work needs to be done. Needless to say that you cannot afford to fail Ndi Abia who are already waiting for ‘miracles’.
The poor, old and sick pensioner who cannot remember when last he was paid expects your miracle. The poor schoolteacher and his pupils who study in a horrible academic environment expect your miracle. The lecturer who is owed tens of months of salary arrears expects your miracle. Abia residents who have suffered the misgovernance of the past administration expect nothing short of a turnaround. All sectors of the Abia economy expect the Otti’s Midas’ touch. Needless to tell you that the challenges are enormous. Having taken the Oath of Office today, your challenge has begun.
Though the tasks are daunting, they are also surmountable. With zeal, clear-cut policies, and prudent and efficient management of resources, the desired results will be achieved, and Abians shall be happy and proud of you as their Governor.
On behalf of my family, the Accord Party faithful and members of the Bishop Emeka Nwankpa Foundation, we wish you unprecedented successes and will continue to pray to God to give you the wisdom and strength to succeed.
Accept our congratulations.
Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, PhD
Accord Party Governorship Candidate
