Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, the Labour Party candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, has vowed to promote legislation aimed at making a conducive environment for small businesses if elected.
Osonwa in a post on his Facebook page noted that small businesses are the bedrock of every economy, saying that through zonal interventions projects, he would provide capital for small businesses and establish a business improvement centre in the Federal Constituency.
He said: “One of my key agendas is to promote small businesses.
“Small businesses are the bedrock of every economy. They bring jobs and provide goods and services down to the local level. I will raise and promote legislation aimed at making a conducive environment for small businesses.
I myself, manage a number of small businesses. I have also a consultancy that services large businesses providing them with solutions to help them achieve their business strategies. These are the skill sets I will bring to the National Assembly.
“Through zonal intervention projects, I will provide capital for small businesses. I will establish a business improvement centre which will assist local businesses to grow and prosper.
“Our people are talented when it comes to business and trade. It is about time the government recognize this and harness it to boost economic growth at local levels.”
