Prof Soludo and the Curse Syndrome.
I listened to Prof Charles Soludo, a first-class Economist graduate, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the current governor of Anambra state during the last Channel TV interview I not only shed tears but I pity the Igbo nation.
I pity the Igbo nation not because we are not enterprising people or good people but because some of us are like a crocodile that eats its eggs.
If you recalled in 1979, Late Senator Okadigbo was used as a buffer by Shehu Shagari to cast aspersions on Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe. Okadigbo referred to Azikiwe’s speech as the “ranting of ants.” We know how Okadigbo ended.
In 1983, Onwudiwe was used by NPN to deny Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu the senatorial seat. He referred to Ojukwu as a “prodigal son.” We all know what happened to Onwudiwe.
In 1999, Orji Uzor Kalu worked against Alex Ekwueme in PDP presidential primary in Jos. We know how Kalu’s career nosedived. His political relevance to the Igbo nation was eclipsed. He is now an errand boy to Hausa/Fulani oligarchy.
We are all conversant about how the governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, and his counterpart in Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi respectively became a willing tool in the hand of Buhari’s government. First, Uzodinma is fighting for his political survival in Imo State. Also, what happened to Umahi at Eagle Square, the venue of APC’s presidential primary was an eye-opener. It should have served as a deterrent to men and women whose stock in trade is envy, jealousy, avarice, selfishness, and wickedness and pulled him down.
So, when Prof Soludo utters those words against Peter Obi. I was not surprised. It was a curse syndrome placed on Igbo men.
We lost the civil war because of betrayal. Nnamdi Kanu is incarcerated today because of betrayal. Some part of the Imo state is no-go areas because of betrayal.
An Igbo can kill his parents because of money. Ndi Igbo cannot speak with one voice because of the “Nkari,” mantras. An Igbo man loves division, fragmentation, and small relevance in his cubicle. Collective voices are only a lipservice, okwu ozo eme ozo. That is why other ethnic groups do not take us seriously because they know there is a willing tool to do the damage once power and money are involved.
In every nook and cranny of wherever an Igbo man lives, there are always mushroom clubs, organizations, and associations springing up. They are not there to foster unity and coexistence but as a gang and unit to project selfish interests against themselves. Just pray you are not a victim of their clandestine and nocturnal night gossip.
All I pray is that this infectious disease did not possess you. It is an ailment that has made Igbo man tools against his brother. He is ready to do anything to see the downfall of his brother. He doesn’t want his brother to rise above him. He is interested in his ego and relevance. But their downfall comes so quickly. Whatever happened in the secret will one day be in an open.
When it was alleged that Soludo was behind Peter Obi leaving PDP, his spin doctors dismissed it as a work of distractors. But Soludo’s envy became public knowledge.
My take on all these salient issues is whatever we plan for others in the secret, we shall rip it.
Everyone is created differently. We can’t paint someone badly because we don’t like him or we are not in accord with him. When you speak unfavorably against your brother, the same people will laugh at you.
Imagine what the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba will be saying about Soludo. In the public, they will hail him but in the private, he is a Judas.
The same fate that happened to Umahi when they dumped him, will happen to Soludo and his likes.

Addendum:
People don’t learn from history. Where is Amaechi today after he did all, sponsored all, and fought everything about GEJ, today, he is irrelevant and discharged because they don’t trust him.
If u can betray your brother, be ready that the same people that benefitted won’t trust you. A traitor remains a traitor in the eyes of the beneficiaries.
